
Sungbok Lee
Sung-Bok Lee, born in 1982, is an Assistant Professor of Western Painting at Pusan National University. He holds a Ph.D. in Painting from Hongik University, an M.F.A. from Long Island University, and a B.F.A. from Chung-Ang University. Lee has had 19 solo exhibitions, including “C.P. Gradations” in Seoul (2023) and “Gradation Number” in New York (2020), and over 50 group exhibitions. His research on visual arts and cognitive science is published in notable journals. Lee has received awards like the Korea Selected Artist prize (2014) and the AHL Foundation Annual Scholarship Grant (2013). His art explores themes of identity and cultural narratives, often reimagining symbols to create unique visual languages.
