Peter Gynd
Peter Gynd is an artist whose work is deeply influenced by his upbringing in the coastal rainforests of western Canada. After studying oil painting, classical sculpture, and glassblowing, he earned an MFA in Painting and Drawing from Brooklyn College. Initially focused on glass sculpture, Gynd returned to painting after a transformative trip to Hawaii, creating his Seascape series over seven years.
In 2011, he moved to New York City, where he established a studio and began curating exhibitions. He served as the director of Lesley Heller Gallery from 2016 to 2020. Gynd has taught painting workshops internationally and exhibited his work across North America, with pieces held in private collections worldwide. He continues to work between Canada and the United States.
